Marine fossil from Kentucky
by: Douglas

One of the views looks like a different fossil than the other two. It may be just that I can't turn it to see how it all fits together but sometimes two different fossils are stuck together.

Having said that the part that looks round looks like a sea urchin. The other part looks like a bivalve. These are guesses. Luckily there is a great site for identifying Kentucky fossils. Follow this link, with your daughter if possible. It will walk you through steps to ID your find as well as tell you the kinds of fossils found in Kentucky.
