Fossiliferous Egg
by: Doug

Fossiliferous is the term used to describe rocks that are mostly fossils like your egg. It is probably fossiliferous limestone. I have seen similiar pieces that came from Morocco.

This material is formed when lots of shells accumulate with other sediments and are cemented together, usually with calcium from the shells themselves.

Nice score for fifty cents!
