Found by shores of Lake Michigan

by Julie
(Chicago, IL)

I was at the beach in Chicago with my daughter and we like to find sea glass, fossils and other cool rocks and I found this partial fossil. Any help would be appreciated!

This looks like a crinoid stem segment. Can you see the ends? If it is crinoid there should be a hole in the center or at least something marking the center as different from the rest. Crinoids are common around Southern Lake Michigan.
