Unidentified

(Bishop's Falls, Newfoundland, Canada)

I found this on a riverbank here in newfoundland. It is discolored from the rest of the rock and has a different texture from the rest of the rock. I'm not sure if it is even a fossil or if my beginner anticipafion got the best of me. Any help is greatly appreciated.
